Gonna a ruota: modello / Flared skirt: pattern

Spulciando le statistiche del mio blog mi sono accorta che qualcuno è passato di qua cercando il modello della gonna a ruota. Ebbene, chiunque tu sia, so cosa provi! Non si trova! Anche io ho vagato vanamente per la rete alla ricerca del modello, ma ho trovato solo persone con tagli di stoffa enormi che ci facevano un buco in mezzo. Facile così! Il modello che ho utilizzato è preso da una specie di enciclopedia di ricamo, maglia e cucito ormai vecchia di quarant'anni :)

Looking into my blog's access statistics I noticed someone visited my blog while looking for the flared skirt's pattern. Well, i know how you feel! I couldn't find it either! I've been wandering around the web looking for it as well, but all i could find were tutorials form people with enormous pieces of fabric cutting a circle in the middle of it. Preatty easy that way! The pattern I used to make my own skirt is taken from a sort of sewing, knitting and embroidery encyclopaedia that is 40 years old :)

Io avevo abbastanza stoffa per ricavarne due semicerchi, ma le stessse misure si possono adottare anche dividendo la gonna in quattro, avendo cura di aggiungere un cm per i margini in più.

My fabric was enough to cut two half circles but you can use the same measurements cutting 4 quarters, you just need to add a centimeter for the margins you'll need.

Radius: (1/2 waistline : 3)+1cm. Half circle: 1/2 waistline+2cm.
Length: to your liking. Belt: waistline +3cm for the overlapping.

Gonna a ruota/ Flared skirt

Oggi sono contentissima di annunciare che FINALMENTE mi sono cucita la mia prima gonna :D

Today I'm really happy to announce I FINALLY sewed my first skirt :D

Ok, ok, lo so, la gonna a ruota è facile, ma sono comunque orgogliosa :D Se vedeste il mio primo tentativo.. ç.ç

Devo ancora lavarla per togliere i segni del gesso (l'ho pasticciata sia sul dritto che sul rovescio mentre disegnavo il modello.. OPS!) e spero di renderla presentabile perchè in un punto ha un colore strano e, dopo averla stirata due volte a vapore, continua ad avere le stesse pieghe. Succede quando la tua merceria di fiducia è la soffitta... :P Tralaltro credo sia lino.. Pieghe che appaiono a velocità supersonica! :S

Ok,ok, I know, the flared skirt is easy, but I'm still proud :D If you could see my first attempt.. ç.ç

I still need to wash it to remove the chalk marks (I scribbled it on both sides while drawing the pattern.. OPS!) and I hope to make it fit to be seen because there's a spot with a strange colour and, after two ironings with steam, it still has the same creases. It happens when your trusted haberdashery is the attic... :P Plus, I think it's linen.. Creases appearing at supersonic speed! :S

Ehilà! Oggi ho passato un'altra giornata china sulla macchina da cucire (e infatti ho un mal di schiena..) e sono veramente contenta di quello che sono riuscita a tirare fuori da un paio di vecchi scampoli :)
Di questo passo la borsa bianca che sto cercando da un'estate intera me la faccio da sola :D

Hi! Today I spent another day with my head bent over the sewing machine (and sure enough I have a backache..) and I'm really happy for what I pulled out of a pair of remnants :)
At this rate I'll craft on my own the white bag I've been looking for a whole summer :D

Purtroppo mi sono accorta all'ultimo momento di aver finito il pangrattato e l'unico pane secco che avevo in casa era stato strusciato con l'aglio per la zuppa di pesce.. Bleah! Immaginavo si sentisse poco, invece sapeva tutto d'aglio.. Odio l'aglio!!! :(

Unfortunately I didn't realize till the last moment I had no breadcrumbs and the only dried bread I had, had been rubbed with garlic to cook fish soup.. Yuck! I had thought it wouldn't taste much, but it all tasted of garlic.. I hate garlic!!! :(

 La seconda notizia è che ho imparato a fare la maglia. Così, da autodidatta, in un quarto d'ora. Solo la maglia dritta si intende, ovviamente. L'idea era di farmi una bella sciarpa larga, ma dopo aver rifatto le prime 5 righe 5 volte ci ho rinunciato, ho sfatto tutto e ho ricominciato con una sciarpa stretta. Dopo un po' però mi sono un tantinello rotta e ho deciso che la mia sciarpa sarebbe diventata una fascia, in fondo la lana era violetta e la sciarpa già la ho prugna, rossa, rosa, magenta... Quindi eccola qui:

The second news is I learned to knit. Self-taught, in a quarter-hour. Just garter stitch I mean, obviusly. The idea was to craft a nice wide scarf, but, after doing the first 5 lines all over again 5 times I gave up, unraveled all and started over with a narrow scarf. However, after a bit I got tired and decided my scarf was to become a hair band, the wool was violet after all and I already own purple, pink, red, magenta scarves... So here it is:

Sono decisamente soddisfatta, insomma per essere il mio primo tentativo... Il mio obbiettivo comunque è una bella sciarpona a maglie larghe, morbidosa e calda. Sì ok, è agosto, sembro una pazza, ma considerate che ieri sera mi sono fatta un the bollente.. :D

I'm definitely satisfied, all in all, this being my first attempt... My objective anyway is to craft a nice, big, fluffy, warm scarf with wide stiches. Yeah ok, it's August, I look like a fool, but consider i had a boiling hot tea yesterday.. :D

Sto cominciando ad adorare la macchina da cucire. Fin'ora l'ho sempre guardata un po' in cagnesco ma, anche se le mie cuciture continuano ad andare dove vogliono loro, comincia a venirne fuori qualcosa di carino! :D

Sono proprio fiera di questa borsa XD

I'm beginning to adore the sewing machine. We've always looked daggers at each other until now but, even if my seams still go wherever they want, something cute begins to come out! :D

I'm really proud of this bag! XD
